International student art festival held in Czech Republic
The events was jointly sponsored by the European Union of Arts, Czech-Chinese Culture and Arts Exchange Association, Czech-China Cooperation Center, and other two organizations. On next Monday, the judges made up of Czech and Chinese famous artists will choose from the exhibition works the Excellence award and other awards.
At the opening ceremony, Zhang Jianmin, Chinese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, also encourage the students to be creative and always try to find the beauty in life.
These students, aged 8-18, were categorised into three groups according to their age. During the four-day event, they will take part in the classes of art masters and outdoor painting. They will also visit the National Gallery and Prague Fine Arts High School and exchange with their counterparts.
"You don't need language to help communicate in the world of art," said Vojtech Filip, Deputy Speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, at the opening ceremony. "Hope these young artists could take the opportunity to exchange more and one day we could see their works exhibited in more prestigious galleries."
